The aim of cheek enhancement with dermal fillers is to add volume or definition to the cheeks. Volume is lost in the cheeks as we age and some people naturally have little volume in their cheeks and wish to improve them. Also, as we age the fat pads in our cheeks separate and move apart which can leave hollows and imperfections in the cheeks. These can also be lifted out with the use of dermal filler injections.
There are many fillers that can be used to enhance the cheeks and mid-face depending on the issues to be addressed. This will be discussed with you during your consultation. The fillers can last anywhere between 6-24 months depending on the product chosen.
Everyone is unique and has different expectations and aesthetic needs. It is therefore important that we carry out a face-to-face consultation to achieve the correct results for you.
We will have a chat about your expectations and medical history, and your face will be carefully assessed for what can be achieved and the likely outcome. We can then select the correct products and answer any questions you may have.
All consultations are complimentary and there to provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision. Cost will also be discussed and if you wish treatment can be carried out during that appointment.
There is no obligation for you to go ahead with treatment if you decide it’s not the right choice for you.
Cheek enhancement, in most cases, is carried out using a cannula rather than a needle. A cannula is a blunt ended needle that glides around blood vessels and allows for a much more even distribution of the filler and also less bruising meaning less downtime. A small entry point is made with a needle then the cannula is inserted. There is minimal discomfort meaning no anaesthetic is required for this procedure.
You can expect some slight tenderness over the first couple of days and possibly a small bruise at the cannula entry sites, otherwise there are very little after effects.
Full after care advice specific to you will be given at the end of your appointment. We advise not to exercise or drink alcohol for 24hours after your treatment and to avoid sun beds or any facial treatments for 1 week.
